Kiddersminster U18 3 Sutton Utd 1
Sutton United's fantastic run in the FA Trophy came to an end with a 3-1 defeat at Kidderminster on Monday.
Sutton, who had beaten Cardiff in the previous round, fell 2-0 behind early on with a lucky break off Richard Langford giving Harriers their first and Matt Lewis rifling home the second.
To their credit, Sutton did not capitulate and were soon back in the game when Matt Gray showed a fine turn of speed to break away on the right wing, and his cross to the far post was met by Terry Gardner, who kept his shot just inside the upright.
Alert
Paul Smith in the Sutton goal had to be alert to make a couple of saves to keep United in the tie.
Kidderminster's third was unliucky for Dean Hamlin, who fired into his own net under pressure from Langford.
Sutton had plenty of attacking play in the second half as they fought to find a way back into their tie but, sadly, their heroic FA Youth Cup run had finally come to an end.
