Motspur came with an attacking formation which caused Colts problems.
Keeper Chris Thompson's presence was missed although Dane Coburn stood-in. Colts made, but failed to take, a series of easy chances before Motspur slid home the first goal after Colts failed to clear. The game looked an even for a while until James Hall poked home an equaliser. As the time went on Colts looked the more likely scorers and Tyson Ousimali made the difference with a goal from nothing just before half time. Then Sam Dinnage took a turn in goal, allowing Dane to go to centre back.
Despite Motspur's repeated attempts Colts' class shone through and so did the goals through Tyson Ousimali (2) and Niall Connery and James Hall. Motspur scored a soft goal from a corner and a late penalty.
