We were disappointed to only get one point from our match at Maidenhead on Saturday.
We made two changes to our regular line-up. Tommy Dunn replaced Chuck Martini in goal and Lewis Gonsalves made his debut at left back.
Both have acquitted themselves well in our Suburban League side and, in line with some inept performances in the first team, they deserved their chance.
We opened very well and looked comfortable in all areas and took a deserved lead through Rob Haworth.
We continued well until the incident that changed the game occurred. Matt Fowler caught the keeper a bit late and high and was deservedly shown a yellow card. A Maidenhead player took matters into his own hand by pushing Matt in the face which, correctly, ended with a red card.
From then until half time we lost our way and conceded a goal just before the break.
Quickly
Some people think it's more difficult playing against 10 men, but I don't have that opinion.
We stressed at half time the need to pass the ball quickly, switch play and put the ball in dangerous areas. Our game plan was rocked when we conceded from a breakaway early after the break.
We stuck at it and equalised through Ryan Palmer but overall didn't create enough chances or, perhaps, didn't have the quality we required. We must look at it as two points lost.
Cannons Health Check: We have seen the benefit of Cannons Health Club at Peeches Walk in Cheam with John Palmer able to play a key role in Tuesday's win over Dulwich. Richard Taylor (ankle) is very near fitness but Scott Corbett (groin) is still unavailable.
Stuart Hammond has joined Bracknell Town to get some first team games but can rejoin us at any point.
