Despite being without both first-choice netminders, as well as Trevor Roenick, Ritchie Bronilla and Steve Thornton, all injured, plus suspended Rob Donovan, not to mention three tough games in as many in Oslo's Continental Cup, the London Knights thrashed Ayr Eagles at the London Arena when returning to Superleague action last Thursday night.
Dominic Digiorgio went in goal for the Knights and was given excellent cover.
But it was the attacking play which won the game as the Knights won 5-2 despite going behind early on.
Paul Rushforth, Dean Blanchard, David Clarke, Moe Mansi and Mike Barrie rattled in five goals before Ayr netted a consolation.
On Sunday, the Knights entertained Sheffield Steelers and won their fourth successive home game.
Without a netminder for the second game running and with last Thursday's goalie Dominic Digeorgio unavailable due to commitments with Milton Keynes, Knights had to turn to ex-Slough stopper Dean Crossland.
Knights were, however, buoyed by the return to the line-up of Rob Donovan, Trevor Roenick and Ritchie Bronilla and, in a determined display, made the champions look second best.
David Struch Ian McIntyre and Mark Kolesar netted for the Knights in a 3-1 win.
Last night, as we went to press, the Knights were at home to Nottingham ahead of this weekend's back-to-back away games at Ayr Eagles and Manchester Storm.
