Christina Carter, the only representative for Greenwich, travelled with her Lewisham team training partner Christina Santell to the London Youth Games' Cross-Country Champion-ships, held at Parliament Hill Fields.
Both train with the Coeur De Lion Triathletes' Club and, amazingly, both achieved 21st place in their respective age group events when almost 200 runners in each took part.
Christina Carter, who is 14 and lives from Eltham, and 15-year-old Christine Santell both acquitted themselves very well and have qualified for the London Schools' Championships being held in January.
A good run in that will give the girls the opportunity of competing in the English Schools' National Finals being held in March.
However, their first target will be the Kent Champion-ships on January 5.
