YOUNGSTERS at a Sidcup primary school were treated to a display of ancient Indian story-telling.
A performer from the internationally-renowned Kala Chethena Kathakali Theatre Company entertained the children at Days Lane Primary School with a demonstration of the 2,000-year-old art.
The Kathakali dramas are based on poems and were designed to bring the stories to people who could not understand the written language.
Headteacher Noel Lake said: "The children were enthralled by the performance and they all managed to imitate the movements very well."
The theatre company has just won more than £9,000 from Lloyds TSB Foundation to help it run school workshops across the country.
