The first derby in 36 years between west London rivals Queens Park Rangers and the super Bees cannot be allowed to pass without a few words.
Wasn't it marvellous.
I've been following Brentford for long enough to have a good memory of that last time we entertained the old enemy at Griffin Park.
Over the years that lot from down the road have been able to lord it over us.
We've had to watch while they've flown high in the top division and their players have been feted for style and talent.
They've wasted no opportunity of looking down their noses at us.
So what a joy it was to welcome them in the present circumstances.
We're looking good for promotion, great side, great manager, great fans, a team that is definitely on the up (we won't mention thoughts of moving to Feltham) and look at them.
No money, no players worth watching, a club on its way down and out.
So much as I enjoyed the visit I fear it may be the last for some time, only this time we'll be fighting it out in the top league while the Rs play someone more their own size like Hayes perhaps.
