I want to thank everyone, particularly the young, who took part in the Lord Mayor's Show in the City of London on Saturday, November 10.
It was a wonderful day and I was impressed by the splendid activities of thousands of people who made marvellous contributions in bands and with floats.
The many contributions from beyond the City confirmed that the event belongs to the whole of London and its neighbouring boroughs and towns.
I have supported the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, in his call to visitors and tourists to flock back to the capital and I believe the show was an early demonstration that it is business as usual.
