THE council is set to clear the problem of abandoned vehicles and fly tipping at Turkey Street Station after discussions with train company WAGN.o
It is hoped the problem will be resolved in the next two to three weeks after Enfield Council and WAGN met to explore joint initiatives as part of the Take Pride Campaign.
Once the vehicles have been removed Railtrack, which will foot the clearance bill, has also agreed to erect a fence on the land to prevent any further problems.
Other initiatives agreed at the November meeting included Take Pride posters on stations, cleaners , landscaping work at Ponders End Station, possibility of a mural and improved lighting at Brimsdown Subway and inclusion of the Take Pride Campaign on the WAGN website and Tracker publication.
Council Leader Doug Taylor said: "Our railway stations are a window on the borough for the people who visit and Railtrack has been very supportive of our campaign."
