A COMPUTER scheme is linking Enfield children with youngsters from across Europe.
The initiative, carried out under a directive called the Comenius Action of Socrates, means that pupils from Raglan Infant School can e-mail, as well as write letters to children and staff from schools in Finland, Italy and Austria.
Some of the teachers at the school have paid visits to Finland and Italy to forge stronger links, and continental teachers will come to British shores.
Raglan School has put up a display in the school for parents and children to keep up to date with the progress of the scheme. The next idea is to send examples of English Christmas decorations and receive Finnish, Italian and Austrian ones in return.
The project is due to run for another two years, but next week, Comenius Week, there will be a special celebration of the differences and similarities between the countries taking part.
Jude Wood, the deputy headteacher, said: "We have learned a lot of information and communication technology skills, and about the other countries."Pic: being taken on Tuesday, at 2pm.
