(Northern League London Division Two)DESPITE facing very slippery conditions Woodford decided to persist with their open handling game, a decision which paid off in some style.
From the start the Highams pack had the edge on their opponents and it wasn't long before a sparkling bout of passing ended up with Jolly on the left, who ran the ball home for the first try, which was converted by Eacott.
Woodford continued to dominate but the only other outcome of an entertaining quarter was one penalty kick from Eacott and two by Thurrock, which gave a half time score of 13-6 to the home side.
Greater pressure in the second half and two more Eacott penalties, coupled with a further try from Law extended the lead to 24-6.
Thurrock then responded with a try and convention of their own, before some lineout possession saw Woodford centre Richardson cross over under the post, and with Eacott converting the try, Woodford ran out clear winners.
Woodford will be hoping to maintain this good form as they travel to Bishop's Stortford and entertain Southend before the Christmas break.
