(London & South East Division One) HARLOW RUGBY CLUB crashed to a heavy defeat to a very fit and fast London Nigerians side on Saturday.

This was always going to be a hard fixture for the Rams against one of the league's form teams, yet it was the visitors who started the better with some good attacking positions.

But the Nigerians soon got into their stride and chalked up 12 points with two tries, one of them converted.

Harlow's only response was a penalty from Harron and in the second quarter they found themselves pegged back with the Nigerians grabbing a 193 lead with a further try just before half time.

Simon Vanbeck was able to reduce the deficit after the break when he scored in the corner.

Harron was just short with the conversion but the scoreline of 198 offered the Rams hope of getting back into the game.

Despite keeping the pressure up Harlow couldn't find a way back and on 20 minutes the Nigerians made the game safe with a try under the posts.

A further try ten minutes before the end stretched their lead to 318 and two more in injury time took Nigerians' total to 45 points.

This defeat leaves Harlow in ninth place out of 12 in the league and with a points difference which will go against them if they end on equal league points with any of their rivals.

The Rams will hope to turn their form around this Saturday when they face Staines.
