AN initiative to inspire young people about science, engineering and technology has been a great success for students at several local schools.
Louise Dewey, from Leventhorpe, Sawbridgeworth, Louanne Grouland, of Hockerill Anglo-European College, and Birchwood High School pupil Frances Ling have completed science projects thanks to bursaries from the Nuffield Foundation educational charity.
The students were offered the bursaries to enable them to take part in science-based projects in universities, industry or research institutions under the supervision of practising scientists.
The youngsters got the chance to present their projects to family and representatives from industry and education at a reception held by GlaxoSmithKline in Stevenage.
