Battersea: Police are urgently appealing for witnesses to a rape in Battersea after fears the rapist may have struck again.
A 20-year-old student was raped in Frere Street on October 17 at 11.45pm and there has been a number of other sexual assaults in the area since then, suggesting the man responsible for the crimes is a local.
The rapist is described as white, 6ft and heavily built. He wore a blue hooded sweatshirt and white Adidas trainers. He also had an earring in one ear and spoke with a rough, local accent.
His victim said he was scruffy and smelt unclean, but police do not believe he is a vagrant.
DS David Cox said: "We think he is more likely to be a manual worker or a builder-type.
"This was a brazen attack in a well-lit street and we believe he may have attacked other women in the area.
"I would urge any women who have not reported such attacks to contact Battersea CID as soon as possible."
