THE 24th London Youth Games, the qualifying for which began as early as May, finally ended last week with the completion of the cross-country championship, with runners from Enfield finding considerable success.
The poor weather didn't dampen the spirits of the 1,450 runners who took to the course in the event.
While everyone who took part in the competition for Enfield fared well, the two performances of the day came from the boys' 15 to 16-year-olds and the 11 to 12-year-olds, who won silver and bronze medals respectively.
The boys 15 to 16 team (pictured l to r) comprised Lee Chappell, Darren St. Clair, Kerry Pogue and Paul Taylor.
The 11 to 12-year old team were Matthew Sharp, Andy O'Neil, Neil Rodgers and Davy Edmee.
