SMALL community groups in Bexley are being urged to ask for cash to help their activities.
The grants, ranging from £500 to £5,000, are given out by the Awards for All section of the National Lottery.
Its aim is to encourage and increase activities in the community.
But groups in Bexley are a bit slow at coming forward, according to Bexleyheath and Crayford MP Nigel Beard.
He has discovered that, while 82 Bexley groups got an award last year, 210 Lewisham groups were successful.
"I know of many worthwhile groups and urge them to find out more about applying for grants.
"This is a great opportunity to get money towards fun, creative and valuable activities in the community," he said.
