A Ferrari driver had part of his ear bitten off when he was attacked by a white van man in Tolworth.
The estate agent was dragged from his car, kicked and punched before the deranged driver tore off his ear lobe with his teeth.
The road rage erupted
when the 27-year-old cut up
the van driver on the
A3 southbound in Tolworth Rise South, on Wednesday, November 28, at 4pm.
The furious 35-year-old builder started hurling pieces of building material at the black sports car while he tailed him on the road.
The estate agent then slowed down to let the enraged driver past.
Instead, the white Ford van swerved in front of the sports car and forced it to stop.
The six foot tall, heavily built builder got out of his van, walked back towards the
Ferrari and attacked the driver, in full view of dozens of drivers.
He then took off, leaving his victim and his passenger
to pick up part of his severed ear and drive to Kingston
Hospital.
The estate agent, from north London, was referred on to St Georges Hospital in Tooting where he underwent plastic surgery.
Investigating officer DC Leanne Cranford said surgeons were not able to reconstitute all of the missing ear lobe because a section was missing.
She said: This was a typical road rage incident that has gone very nastily wrong.
I have never known an assault like that. To actually bite someones ear off is absolutely unheard of. But I will catch him.
The attacker is aged 35, 6ft tall and heavily built. He has short brown hair and a beard. At the time of the attack he was wearing a white overall and a red t-shirt.
Anyone with information about the incident should call DC Cranford on 020 82475131 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
