A traditional fish and chip shop in North Kingston has pledged to donate a percentage of its profits to a leading fishermens charity.
Trisha Al-Manasfi and her husband Imad (right), who own the Crossroads Fishbar in Cross Road, will be taking part in a nationwide initiative today, December 7.
The couple will give 3 per cent of profits to the Fisherman Mission, which helps support widows and children of fishermen who have died at sea.
Statistics show that nine fishermen are killed or seriously injured every month in the UK making it one of the most dangerous professions in the world.
