A CHRISTMAS lights ceremony in Orpington raised £200 for charity and entertained hundreds of shoppers.
The High Street lights were turned on by mayor Councillor John Holbrook and a firework display attracted admiration from the crowd at The Walnuts.
There was entertainment from Father Christmas, Orpington College performing arts department and a choir from Perry Hall Primary School, Perry Hall Road.
Passers-by donated money to local and international charities through the town's Rotary Club, which will support the Christmas dinner for the elderly held by Bromley Centre for Voluntary Services.
Father Christmas will return to the Walnuts shopping centre from December 19 to 22.
