CHARLTON: From 89 to two months, they will all be there
THIS Christmas will be an expensive one for one family, which now has to buy gifts for relatives spanning five generations.
Pearl Streek, 89, of Fletching Road, Charlton, saw her family stretch to five generations when her great-great-granddaughter was born last month.
Little Jessica Pearl Mills was born on November 17, at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup, weighing in at nearly seven pounds.
She is settling in with her mother, 17-year-old Tania Mills, at the family home in Bedonwell Road, Bexleyheath, with her uncles Jack, 12, and Christopher, 11, and grandparents Gary and Julie, both 38.
Whether she is aware how lucky she is to have a great-great grandmother is unclear but there can be no doubt the rest of the family is over the moon.
Great-grandmother, Pearl Bojczuk, who is a mere 71, of Lewisham Road, Lewisham, is ecstatic: "It's like having my first grandchild my first child all over again. My husband died and didn't see any of his grand-children so this is a big thrill for me.
"My mother is absolutely thrilled to bits. We took the baby to see her the other day and she nursed her."
The whole family will be spending Christmas day together. All five generations will be going out for dinner and spending the rest of the day at home.
