A STUDENT has brightened up sick children's lives at Whipps Cross Hospital's acorn unit.
Caring Michelle Devine presented the children's unit with a decorative wall-hanging on Tuesday.
The GCSE textiles student from Davenant Foundation School in Loughton spent many hours creating the decoration.
She said: "Sometimes hospital wards can be dim so I wanted to brighten up the ward and bring some colour and pleasure into sick children's lives.
"I made the wall-hanging to cheer them up through their stay and to help them take their mind off the situation they are in."
The wall-hanging, which shows a beaded flower with three humming birds in to feed on it, was designed as part of 16-year-old Michelle's GCSE textiles coursework.
