A MULTI-MILLION pound regeneration package for Lewisham's roads has been announced by the council.
The programme prompted by a UK Pavement Management System (UKPMS) report, has already begun and will see 48 roads in the borough brought back to tip-top condition.
UKPMS rated all the roads in the borough for structural integrity and those scoring an index of 70 or above have been selected.
Deputy Mayor Councillor Gavin Moore said: "The funds we have have allowed officers to identify areas in greatest need of maintenance and enabled us to ensure the programmes are properly prioritised. I hope this goes some way to show we are serious about making much improvements."
The roads to be repaired are: Albyn Road, Arcus Road, Bellingham Green, Bolden Street, Clyde Street, Cranmore Road, Cottesbrook Street, Dorville Road, Durham Hill, Elmira Street, Farren Road, Foxborough Gardens, Glenbow Road, Hare and Billet Road, Horniman Drive, Laurie Grove, Lewisham Hill, Northover, Marvels Lane, Oakcroft Road, Overdown Road, Pepys Road, Prince Charles Road, Ravensbourne Park, Reigate Road, Rosamond Street, Roundtable Road, Verdant Lane, Blackheath Village, Lee Terrace, Waters Road, Downham Way, Brockley Rise, Canadian Avenue, Whitefoot Lane, Tressillian Road, Lewisham Park, Endwell Road, Torridon Road, Sprules Road, Handen Road, Ladywell Road, Cotton Hill, Lawrie Park Avenue, Trundley's Road, Montpellier Vale, Brockman Rise and Woodyates Road.
