Old Bailey: One of the six men accused of plotting to steal the De Beers Millennium Diamond Collection, worth £200m, from the Millennium Dome, has been freed.
Judge Michael Coombe directed that Wayne Taylor should be found not guilty due to lack of evidence against him.
Mr Taylor, 35, of Tonbridge, Kent, had denied conspiracy to steal and conspiracy to rob.
The heist targeted the pear-shaped 203 carat Millennium Star hailed by experts as "one of the most beautiful of diamonds".
The trial of the five other men is continuing, and is expected to laste until late January.
