PRIMARY school league tables show that most local Year 6 children are achieving the recommended level 4 grade in English, science and maths.o
The Standard Assessment Test (SAT) results are generally high.
St Luke's RC Primary School in Pyenest Road, Harlow, is the town's best performer, according to the tables, with all Year 6 pupils achieving level four in science, 96 per cent in English and 87 per cent in maths.
Head teacher Delia Doyle said: "We're very pleased with the progress the school has made over the last four years and it's a credit to the hard work of the children and the staff.
"We've come a long way this year as we were in special measures until February, so we're very proud of how well the school has done and we hope to continue to keep making progress."
The number of children achieving level four at St Alban's RC Primary School, Harlow, was also high, with all 28 children making the grade in science, 87 per cent for maths and 96 per cent for English.
Head teacher Bozena Laraway said: "The children have responded very well to our style of teaching. We don't teach for the tests but provide such a curriculum that the children feel comfortable to sit exams. I have praised all my staff not only individual classes but the efforts of all the teachers throughout the years."
The 14 Year 6 pupils at Manuden Primary School all achieved level four, which ranked the school third in the Essex local education authority area.
Head teacher Linda Talbot said: "I'm very proud of the children who have worked hard to achieve such good results. Every child is different and here the staff are dedicated to ensuring that the children are given a good all round education."
The number of pupils achieving level four at Hatfield Heath Primary School has risen steadily over the last five years.
Head teacher John Clements said: "Over the last few years we've got better and moved forward and that's a result of everybody who is involved with the school coming together - the parents, governors, staff and children."
Children at St Andrew's C of E Primary, Much Hadham, also scored highly, with all SATs pupils achieving level four in maths and science and 94 per cent in English.
Head teacher Diana Baker said: "The school has always performed consistently well since the league tables were established and that's due to dedication and hard work of the staff and the support of the parents.
"However, these results are only a tiny fragment of what we do."
