A COLOURFUL mosaic created by 18 unemployed teenagers in Thamesmead has been officially unveiled.
Designs spanning 25m in the Limestone Walk Precinct depicting scenes from the area's history, were opened by Erith and Thamesmead MP John Austin.
Scenes include the construction of Lesnes Abbey, medieval farming, and the battle between Thamesmead Saxon archers fighting off the invading Vikings.
The six week paid course gave the youngsters, aged 16 to 18, as close an experience to full time work as possible.
