In reply to the letter from Isobel Joyce about covering fewer crime stories and murders, if the News Shopper didn't cover crime, how will the public know what is going on?

Of course crime must be reported. I like to know how much crime is being committed because it proves whether the streets are getting safer, which as we all know, they are not.

I don't know what planet Isobel Joyce lives on.

She says there is too much crime being reported on television and she states decent people would like nice stories. We are all decent people.

I suggest Isobel Joyce sits in the library all day, reading her fairy stories, perhaps if she was mugged on the street, she would change her attitude.

But then she won't read papers, she will bin them.

Perhaps if she had read this week's News Shopper, she would have noticed there was hardly any crime reported. Keep up the good work News Shopper tell the people what they want to hear.
