Finchley 0 Letchworth 29
London League 3 North West
Although Finchley put up a spirited performance on Saturday, they were unable to contend with their well-drilled, fast, and powerful opponents.
Letchworth, who have reinforced their squad with five former Cambridge players, appear to be strong contenders for promotion.
Finchley were soon 14 points down from converted tries, scored following mistakes and their prospects looked bleak.
However, the Finchley pack got to grips with their bulkier opponents, and frequently obtained clean ball.
A long kick by James Webb gave Mark George a scoring chance but he was bundled into touch just short of the line.
Letchworth increased their lead with a pushover try, followed by another two tries.
