AN INVENTOR claims to have struck upon a revolutionary way of improving security by creating an unbreakable lock.
Alan Davies, 30, of Worple Road, Isleworth, is waiting to find out whether he is the first person to come up with the concept and, if successful, can then approach major lock manufacturers in the hope of having it mass produced.
He said: "I got tired of going into public toilets or changing rooms and seeing that the door lock was almost always broken, so I took a conventional bolt lock and replaced the bolt retainer, which is usually made of steel, with a tough, durable rubber with a narrow opening along its length."
