BELLS were ringing for The Chimes shopping centre after it scooped a title in the BCSC New Shopping Centre Award.
Receiving a commendation in the new centre award category, The Chimes was described by the jury as 'a mixed-use scheme that successfully assimilates new retail with residential and leisure space, while also incorporating listed buildings in the heart of the Uxbridge High Street conservation area.'
"We are delighted to receive the new centre award commendation fromThe British Council of Shopping Centres," said Chimes centre manager Tony Dunn.
"As The Chimes has only been open nine months and is still in its infancy, it is particularly encouraging to receive such acclamation.
"We are extremely pleased with customer reaction to the centre, and intend to continually listen to our customers to understand their requirements and ensure that The Chimes goes from strength to strength."
The BCSC Shopping Centre Awards are a leading honour within the retail industry the equivalent to a film Oscar and are designed to celebrate new and refurbished centres.
West Quay Shopping Centre in Southampton took the highest honours.
