Please God no! Not the dreaded bendy bus! ( 'Bendy buses an option' Times Dec 6). I have endured the misfortune of using the bendy bus. I admit the first time it's an exciting novelty, an amusing change from an ordinary bus. The first day I saw it there were smiles all around from passengers for a while.
And then the terrible truth dawned they're even slower than normal buses. The journey up Uxbridge Road is tortuous at the best of times but in these lumbering, cumbersome beasts it goes beyond torture. It would have been quicker to walk. I may have been on it for so long that I became dehydrated and started to hallucinate, but I swear I saw a couple of snails and a tortoise overtaking us on the outside lane.
