The Prime Minister cannot have it both ways. On the one hand he says we must be open to the euro to increase our sovereignty, avoid missed opportunities of the past, and be at the heart of Europe.
On the other, we have the lowest inflation in Europe and the highest employment rate of any of our major competitors. We are predicted to grow at the fastest rate of any G7 country. Who says? Tony Blair in Prime Minister's Questions on November 21.
Every speech out of their own mouths in praise of Britain's economic success in an uncertain world is an argument in favour of keeping the pound and remaining successful independent of the single currency.
