THINGS tend to get a little messy after a good night out but one bar was hoping to give punters a seriously slimy time.
The first O'Neill's Harrow Snail Race took place on Thursday last week to the delight of fans who saw snails zooming round a track for a taste of success.
And it was ready, steady, crawl in a scaled down version of Silverstone a small wooden circle surrounded by luscious lettuce in the middle of which two snails are placed on the 'starting blocks'.
The first snail to reach the lettuce is the winner.
The owner of the fastest snail won free pints of Guinness at the Station Road bar.
