Conmen posing as carpet salesmen strolled through an unlocked door into an elderly Sutton couple's flat and stole credit cards and a purse, at around 12.30pm last Wednesday.
The 79-year-old man had left his wife in their Bushy Road flat to go to the post office, when two burglars walked in. One started talking to the pensioner while the other searched upstairs and took the goods.
Police are looking for these two plus a third man, who was seen by the pensioner on his way to the post office. They were all white, around 27, two were around 6ft and the other about 5ft 10ins. Call PC Buttery with information on 020 8649 0682.
