Whitgift School 32 St Benedicts 7
A large crowd at Whitgift School saw the under-18 team dispatch St Benedicts School from Ealing and progress to the sixth round of the national schools Daily Mail Cup.
Whitgift played with a very strong wind at their backs in the first half against St Benedicts' last week.
By the interval, the home side was well in control having scored four tries - two of which fly-half Ross Broadfoot converted - and a penalty.
St Benedicts, unable to make full use of the wind, only managed one breakaway try in the second half whilst the elusive Whitgift scrum half Tom Maynard scored a typical try to round the game off when he made a solo run to the line having received good possession from his hard-working pack.
Whitgift now go on to play Campion in the New Year for a place in the quarter-finals.
Broadfoot added a try to his kicking tally and he was joined on the scoresheet by Maynard, Adam Clarke, Mark Foster and Jamie Crawford as try-scorers.
