HAC 2 Kenley 1
From the start of this Surrey Division Two match Kenley pushed for the win but narrowly missed out to high-flying HAC.
The match began with Mark Hayden making a weaving run and narrowly missing the goal.
The visiting side continually pressured HAC and were soon rewarded for their efforts when Andy Moore converted an accurate pass from Andy Carpenter.
The two teams were evenly matched until a well-worked move led to the home side equalising.
Kenley pushed on and were awarded a short corner in the last minute of the half but an umpiring misdemeanour led to a legitimate goal being disallowed.
Andy Wright, Andy Carpenter and Nick Thomas all came close to scoring early in the second half.
HAC then controlled the play and put the Kenley defence under attack.
However, the defence could not be penetrated and the Kenley goalkeeper made some vital saves.
With a string of short corners the home team broke the tireless Kenley defence, gaining the lead with five minutes remaining. Kenley were awarded two short corners but could not find the goal.
