(London Division Four, North East)THE MANOR are on a run after winning their fifth game out of five and during all of these games they have not conceded a try, making it 400 minutes without having their line crossed.
Thetford managed to muster two early long range penalties and the home side replied by scoring two tries, one in each half.
Mark Cuschieri got the first, jinking and dummying through the Thetford defence, with Greg Anderson converting to make it 7-0.
Apart from Thetford's two penalties, the rest of the half had the Manor pressing the visitors but to no avail.
The second half was a mirror image of the first and the Thetford defence finally broke down after the Manor pressed for fully ten minutes. Manor's forwards secured good ball and Richard Harrison broke from Thetford's 25-yard line and sprinted through the over-stretched visitors defence to dive over near the posts.
This well deserved try was duly converted by Greg Andersen to give Manor a 14-6 lead.
The last 15 minutes were all Manor, with Thetford never troubling the home side. Manor were content to play in their opponent's half, kicking for position and letting the forward pen their opponents inside their 22 to cap off a much deserved win.
f=Zapf Dingbats lo Next week the Manor have a rest from league action. They play Chingford at the New Wilderness, kick off at 2.15pm.
