Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake said: "Clearly residents have some concerns but if the application is allowed to proceed I think these concerns can be addressed at a later date.
"When I was made aware of this application I spoke to Theresa May the MP for Maidenhead who has a similar project which has been running in her constituency.
"She could not recall any issues having been raised with her about that site.
"Furthermore the children who will be taking part in this project are Sutton children for whom the local authority has a responsibility.
"I think it is in the interest of children and local residents that they are in a well managed project and I have undertaken to visit the project if it does proceed to ensure it is well managed."
