At least 30 state-of-the-art computers were presented to pupils at Stanley Technical High School for their use at home, signifying the school's move towards equipping all pupils with the skills needed to work in the future.
Computers and printers were donated to the school for use by those pupils who do not normally have access to computing technology at home.
Barclays Bank donated the equipment as part of its Tools in Schools programme and Barclays staff provided lessons in school showing pupils how to set the equipment up.
Stanley pupils were joined by the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Peter Hopson, cabinet member for education, Councillor Louisa Woodley and Malcolm Wicks MP at the presentation held at Stanley Technical High School for Boys in South Norwood Hill on November 23.
Councillor Louisa Woodley said: "We are working to ensure that Stanley, once more, becomes a first class technology school, leading the way in the educational use of IT.
"Computer technology features strongly at the school which already boasts two computer suites with the prospect of two more when it expands into Fortune House in April. However, Barclays Bank has very generously demonstrated the important role they, and others, can play in providing our pupils with the opportunity to access high quality learning materials, at home."
