Croydon's mayoress Eileen Hopson, hosted a festive reception for Croydon's voluntary workers at Addington Palace on Monday - and delighted them by saying she hopes to join them when her civic duties are over.
The voluntary sector in Croydon is mayor Peter Hopson's chosen charity for his term of office and the mayoress took the opportunity to meet a selection of workers and administrative staff from a range of charities to thank them for their valuable work.
Among the groups represented were YMCA, age concern, the Purley-based Cancer Help Centre, Croydon Family Groups, Croydon Volunteer Group, New Addington Pop-In and the Addiscombe Neighbourhood Care Association (ANCA).
