OWNERS of small shops in Bounces Road, Edmonton, can now apply to Enfield Council for funding of up to £1,500 to assist in improving the internal and external security of their premises.o
This could include the installation of locks, security grills, and rear window bars or till shields or the funding needed to install burglar alarms or internal CCTV.
The Small Retailers Security Improvement Grant Scheme, launched by Enfield Council with funding from the Government Office for London and the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, provides up to £1,500 in matched funding to small shopkeepers who install security measures designed to improve safety by reducing the risk of burglary and theft.
The council's community safety manager, Mark Sanger, said: "This new scheme is one of a range of improvements proposed for the Bounces Road area of Edmonton in Enfield's Be Safe Feel Safe campaign.
"It forms part of the Government initiative to reduce crime and the fear of it."
