Nicky Bailey signed a contract with Sutton last week and celebrated by bagging a double at Northwood.

The 17-year-old striker was in great form as Sutton cruised to victory in their first Suburban League game since November 10.

Us made most of the first half running but missed a number of chances, none better than when Aaron Smith was brought down by the home keeper for a penalty. However, the stopper redeemed himself by smartly saving Barry Seal's spot kick.

Eight minutes before the break, Bailey set off on a run from the half-way line which saw him beat two defenders before opening the scoring.

Northwood put Us under more pressure in the second half and Martin Dunne was forced to clear off his own line.

But with just four minutes remaining, Bailey sealed the victory after the home defence carelessly gave the ball away.

In search of his hat-trick, Bailey hit the side netting in the last minute and Ben Moger was forced to clear a late Northwood effort off the line.

Sutton: Ribolla, Moger, Taylor (Dray), Dunne, Howard, Arkwright, Bailey, Smith, Seal (Tydeman) Hastick (Heuston), Delandro.
