Children at four Tooting primary schools could have a safer journey to and from school if plans to improve road safety in the area get the go-ahead.
Wandsworth Council has approved in principle a package of safety measures to provide safer routes for the children at Penwortham, Eardley, Furzedown, and Graveney schools.
The proposed measures include: raising the height of the carriageway and traffic calming cushions in Moyser Road, a raised table in Welham Road, kerb build-outs at the junction of Nimrod Road and Welham Road and a raised entry treatment and traffic calming cushions in Chillerton Road.
Residents are urged to respond to the consultation, which ends on Sunday, December 21, by calling Bent Beck on 020 8871 6665.
