More than 250 people have signed a petition calling for rail bosses to improve access for the disabled to St Margarets station.
Residents joined councillors collecting signatures in support of re-opening the entrance to the station in Amyand Park Road.
The entrance has been closed for a couple of years and residents are pressing for it to be re-opened to enable people with disabilities or mothers with pushchairs to use the trains more easily.
Resident Chris Deavin said: Opening it would mean that disabled passengers could catch a train to Twickenham and then change to the London-bound trains without using stairs at all.
It would also save residents who live south of the station a few minutes every day.
