A St John Ambulance cadet from the Malden and Coombe division has won the top award in London.
Helen Shirley, 17, beat seven other entries to be picked as London District Cadet of the year.
For the final test she had to draw up recruitment documents and posters for potential members, and plan out and run a made-up public duty plan for the forthcoming Queens Golden Jubilee celebrations.
She also had to take part in team building exercises and draft out a logo for St John in 2002.
She will now go on to the national finals.
