A growing number of businesses in the London and south east area are in favour of the introduction of a single currency according to a new survey.
The survey of 1,000 businesses showed that almost a third of companies based in the south east felt the Euro would benefit their businesses and increase trade between Britsh companies and their European counterparts.
The survey was carried out by TMP Worldwide as part of their long running Job Index Survey.
Their results are all the more significant with introduction of the Euro on the horizon in two months time.
Chris Herrmannsen, from TMP Worldwide said: It is clear from our research that British business is finally throwing its support behind the Euro, marking a distinct change from the opposition to the single European currency that has historically preceded it.
Although a significant minority of businesses still vehemently opposes the Euro, support for the Euro does appear to be growing across the south east in particular.
