Embattled Alison Moore this week won support from one of the borough's most influential headteachers.
Alan Davison spoke out after Tories called for Ms Moore's head over the report into St John's C of E School in Crescent Road, Friern Barnet.
Dr Davison, headteacher of Mill Hill High School, warned against a 'blame culture' over the fallout of a report into the school.
Tories claim Ms Moore bears ultimate responsibility for the botched handling of sex allegations against a five-year-old boy. She was not mentioned once in the report, despite her seniority.
"These are very complex issues and it's very easy to call for people's heads," said Dr Davison. "It's unfortunate that's how it is going. To blame Alison Moore is not helpful. We have to learn from these things are make sure we avoid them in future."
Dr Davison is chairman of Barnet Headteachers' Conference but said he was speaking personally.
