Jemma Mitcham from the Hendon Youth Sports Centre has confirmed that she is one of Britain's most exciting karate stars with excellent performances in the world and european championships.

Only 18, Jemma faced opponents at least three years older in both these senior events, but showed maturity and style.

In the world contest in Prague, Jemma won three bronze medals, in the individual and team kata (set routines), and individual kumite (fighting).

She followed that with another impressive display in the European tournament in Vienna last month, collecting three more medals.

Silver medallist in the individual kata, Jemma also gained bronzes in the team kata and individual kumite
