Bromley 1 Wealdstone 2
(December 15)
Wealdstone's run of league games without a win finally came to an end with victory at Bromley, writes Steve Paull.
After a dull opening period, the outcome of the match centred on the sending off of Bromley's Kirk Watts halfway through the first half for allegedly head butting Wealdstone's keeper Andy Carter in an off-the-ball incident.
Stones were a goal up at the time, after Fergus Moore headed in a corner from Ricky Pither, but the extra man helped Stones.
Terry Chamberlin scored Stones' second goal on the stroke of half time, knocking in Marvin Morgan's low cross, but that was before referee Coleman added on 10 minutes of stoppage time for an injury to Stones' Richard Horner that saw the centre back stretchered off.
Six minutes into injury time, Bromley's Harris curled a free kick around the wall to reduce the arrears.
The home side tried gamely to get something from the match in the second period, but Stones, on the break, always looked the more likely to score, and, but for poor finishing, would have emphasised this.
Wealdstone: A Carter, Perry, Moore, Walker, Horner (Bamgbola), Pither (Somers), Deadman, Shaw, Chamberlin, Morgan, Tilbury
