POLICE are offering a £5,000 reward for information that leads to the conviction of those responsible for planting a nail bomb in the doorway of a busy pub.
The device was planted in the entrance of the Lady Margaret public house in Lady Margaret Road, close to closing time on October 18. Nobody was injured but the premises suffered serious damage. The bomb contained black powder originating from fireworks and was packed tightly with galvanised nails.
Police are keen to talk to anyone who was in the pub at the time and has not yet come forward. They would also like to speak to witnesses who saw anything, or anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time the bomb went off.
Detectives originally linked the bomb with a shooting that happened one hour earlier only roads away in Cranleigh Gardens, Southall but dismissed that theory when their investigations led them to charge 30-year-old Manjit Singh Sangha, from Muswell Hill, for that offence.
Meanwhile, murder detectives are appealing to the public for further information six months after 62-year-old Alec Christopher was fatally stabbed in Avenue Road, Southall on June 20.
A reward of £10,000 is being offered by police to anyone who can provide information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the murderers. Information to 8247 7821 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
