I was taken ill recently and after reading about St Helier Hospital I was very apprehensive of what to expect because this is the first time I had been to hospital in 65 years.

I was very surprised by the care and attention I received from doctors, nurses and staff both in A&E and Ward 6B.

But I can only speak for my own treatment and care.

The staff do a wonderful job whilst under extreme pressure patients who soil the bed night and day need washing and their clothes and bedding need changing, night wanderers, stroppy impatient patients, etc.

I thought the food was also very good, it was presented pleasantly and there was a good selection.

I must be one of the wacky ones from what I read in the papers but my thanks and gratitude go to all the staff at A&E, A1 and B6.
